October General Meeting – Thursday 10/22 @ 7 pm

You’re invited to our October general meeting on Thursday, October 22nd at 7 pm!

Now that we’re over a month into remote learning, we thought it would be great to provide a forum for parents to share their experiences so far. We’ve heard lots of stories of things that have worked well in some classes and other areas that have been a struggle. We’re all in this together, so we’re looking forward to the chance to bring our community together to see how to maximize our kids’ school experience. We will have breakouts for different age groups to narrow the discussion more.

We also have a few business matters to tackle this meeting as well. On an annual basis, we review the PTSA’s standing rules and amend them as appropriate. Included below are links to our existing standing rules, the revised standing rules, and a comparison of the two. Please take the time to read the document, for which amendments require a vote of the general membership.




The primary changes in the standing rules pertain to:

  1. Affirming that that the PTSA will follow Washington State PTA’s Standards of Affiliation;
  2. Enhancing guidelines around security of the PTSA’s finances and related information; and
  3. Implementing guidelines around the appropriate use of social media and other communications platforms.
