Our dedicated and active parent community is one of the many reasons Arbor Heights is such a special place for our children. There are numerous ways to support the mission, whether it’s directly with the school or through the PTSA. We are always seeking volunteers to lend their skills, talents, and time – in ways both big and small – during the school day and/or after school hours. Below are examples of opportunities:
- Hawkeyes – Parents can support their children’s classes directly by serving as a Hawkeye where they can work directly with classroom teachers to address their specific needs.
- Events Committee – This committee plans fundraising and social events throughout the year. Whether you can help plan and execute one event or several, we’d love your help! Contact Heather Nordlund.
- Popcorn Fridays – Once a month, parent volunteers pop popcorn and serve it to every Arbor Heights student. It’s a fun and easy time to help out, chat with fellow parents, and wave at your student during the school day. If you’d like to help, please sign up here.
- Diversity Committee
- Garden Committee
- Neurodiverse Communities Committee
- Enrichment Committee – After-School Enrichment is a program offered by the PTSA to bring in different vendors to offer optional programs to Arbor Heights students in exchange for a fee. You can find out more here or contact Erin.
- Yearbook Committee – Help make this year’s yearbook amazing! We’re looking for parent volunteers to snap event photos, assist with sales and distribution, or lend a hand with design. No experience needed—just enthusiasm! Contact Heather Munro to join the fun!
- General Meeting Presenters: We’re always on the lookout for interesting topics to share during our general PTSA meetings. You can bring your subject matter expertise (or even just a suggestion) to share with our families.
Not all volunteering has to be an official position. Even if it’s something as simple as helping making signs for an assembly or picking up some classroom snacks, every little bit counts.
