December 2025
- Our communal garden is teeming with rosemary and sage. Stop by and pick some. Visit the school garden outside of school hours. Help yourselves to anything that looks ready to pick (just leave enough green for the plants to survive).
- Get more updates from our garden channel on the PTSA Slack workspace.
- The winter garden work party is January 25, 2026 from 9:30am-11:30am. We’ll turn compost, swap seeds and plan our spring planting.
About the Garden
Our garden is a space where students, teachers, families, and community members can come together to learn, grow, and connect. Through gardening, students develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and the importance of sustainability. They learn about composting, water conservation, and the impact of their choices on the environment. The garden offers a unique and engaging learning experience that fosters a love for nature and a sense of accomplishment. Students can witness firsthand the results of their hard work, boosting their confidence and fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
Thank you to the Arbor Heights PTSA and community members who fund this garden! It would not be possible without their financial support.
Volunteer
The Arbor Heights Garden is entirely volunteer-led by our amazing community of students, parents, and teachers. Volunteers help care for the garden, work with students, and support garden-related events. We are always looking for more volunteers! Check out the garden channel on the PTSA Slack workspace for more information.
Visiting Hours
The Arbor Heights Garden is open to the public outside of regular school hours (Monday-Friday, 7:55am – 2:25pm) from dawn until dusk.

Work Parties
Arbor Heights Garden work parties take place on weekends in the fall and spring. Work parties are open to all families and members of our community. We hope you will join us at our next work party!

Events are open to all Arbor Heights families and members of our community.
Fall: Community Cider Pressing Party
Spring: Earth Week Celebration
Does your student enjoy nature, being outside, and working with their hands in the soil? This after school club will support students in grades 2nd-5th as they become stewards of our school garden. Students will enjoy weekly gardening projects, crafts, and games in the garden space. We will foster a sense of connection and gratitude for the garden and our environment through activities and reflections. We will primarily be outdoors and student participants should dress appropriately for the fickle Pacific Northwest weather (the class may move inside during heavy rain).
Garden Club is offered in the Fall and Spring.

Art & Exploration Pop-up Events
